A Recovery Approach-Utilizing Intensive and Outpatient Services

Choices for Recovery sees many factors that contribute to a successful recovery process. This view is central to a Choices philosophy (spoken by the founder) of supporting an individual’s “path to freedom”. Choices for Recovery focuses on meeting the individual where they are and tailoring interventions and activities to support one’s change process. The program combines some best practices in addiction treatment with holistic activities to treat the mind, body, and spirit.

The Choices for Recovery program offers a 24- week model that involves intensive outpatient and outpatient services. This model’s length of stay supports the idea of having an extended treatment process to help individuals increase the likelihood of long-term sobriety. The length of stay is based on individual needs. An individual does not necessarily need to attend the full 24-week program. The individual’s needs are determined in a comprehensive assessment process and subsequent treatment reviews throughout the course of treatment. The outpatient assessment process involves recommendations to support needs. These recommendations generally include treatment supports, natural supports, and referrals as appropriate. Treatment supports can be residential, intensive outpatient or outpatient services. Choices for Recovery programming consists of intensive outpatient and outpatient services.

Though there are many ways to support a recovery process, essential elements include a combination of effective coping strategies, managing triggers and abstinence. Effectively addressing these areas can create a foundation for success. The Choices for Recovery outpatient services focus on these areas. The goal is to meet the individual where they are, providing an individual with a place of understanding, healing and hope. To that end, the Crittenden family has created the Hollis Hope Scholarship.

Hollis was inspired by his battle with the disease of addiction. He desired a community of support and worked diligently to help others face their disease. His family wants to continue this message with the Hollis Hope Scholarship. The scholarship offers some financial relief for individuals that are highly motivated and ready to engage in recovery. The scholarship is allocated to Choices for Recovery intensive outpatient services. For those interested, please feel free to contact Choices for Recovery to learn more about this scholarship.
